Requirements
- Completion of a Dental Hygiene Diploma from a recognized accredited educational institute
- Registered in good standing with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (general or specialty certification) and authorized for self-initiation
- Minimum of 3 years full-time clinical dental hygiene experience
- Current Basic Life Support (HCP) and First Aid Certification
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation
- Proficient in taking digital radiographs
- Current knowledge, experience and skills necessary to provide comprehensive dental hygiene services to children, seniors and vulnerable population groups
- Demonstrated understanding and ability to apply principles of health promotion, disease/injury prevention and determinants of health
- Knowledge with Ministry government assisted programs (e.g., HSO, Ontario Works, Ontario Disability Support Program, etc.)
- Experience with dental software programs (e.g., ABELDent)
- Strong knowledge and adherence to IPAC/PIDAC measures (Public Health Ontario Instrument Reprocessing Certificate is an asset)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Excellent clinical and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and adaptable to changing program needs
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team setting
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to perform independently and effectively
- Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check at time of hire
