Requirements
Dental Hygienists Licensure by the appropriate provincial or territorial governing body
1 to 2 years of clinical experience
Ability to conduct initial dental assessments
Consultation skills to work with dentists on patient care
Skill in taking dental impressions
Experience in instructing patients regarding oral hygiene
Ability to clean and stimulate gums to prevent gum disease
Experience in applying fluoride treatments
Skill in removing stains and deposits from teeth
Ability to take, develop and mount X-rays
Capability to remove sutures
Basic security clearance
Strong manual dexterity
Ability to perform repetitive tasks
Excellent hand-eye coordination
Attention to detail
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to distinguish between colors
Strong client focus and efficient interpersonal skills
