Requirements
Certification with the Dental Assisting Examining Board, CDA II in good standing
Experience in the use and maintenance of dental instruments and equipment
Experience in several dental specialties
Knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) practices in a dental setting as outlined by Public Health Ontario
Knowledge of billings and coverage of low-income programs such as OSDCP, HSO, ODSP, OW, CDCP, and insurance claims through NIHB and dental coverage
Possession of HARP Certificate
Ability to work in teams with ethical and professional behavior
Knowledge of Indigenous culture, traditions, teachings, and ceremonies (asset)
Knowledge of ABELDent software, iTero, camera, and digital radiography (asset)
Willingness to work with vulnerable populations
Excellent organizational skills and sense of autonomy
Clinical chairside assisting skills including knowledge of instrumentation, mixing dental materials, and applying suction
Ability to expose and record digital radiographs (XCP, PAN, BW)
Experience engaging with patients to create a comfortable and friendly environment
Ability to provide dental health education and preventive care instruction
Strong active listening and communication skills regarding informed consent
