Job Duties:

Routine and typical duties as a dental hygienist such as following:
To attend to patient’s oral well-being, regarding their oral hygiene status.
To point out any possible unsatisfactory dental health areas to the dentist during appointments and to assist in explaining dental concerns.
To update medical history at every appointment.
To ensure patient education and that patients understand the office treatment philosophy, which is to provide the best dentistry possible for all patients.
To be aware and encourage patients to have the correct treatment at their next visit and to enhance a positive patient experience.
Take required x-rays of diagnostic quality as per office protocol and by direction of the dentist.
Co-diagnosis and Co-treatment planning (as permitted by law).
Assist in adding pre-determination codes to the computer and scheduling future appointments.
Ensure that patient has another appointment on leaving, even if it is only tentative.
Being at work, ready, prior to first patient arrival in morning and after lunch.
To ensure that all documentation is accurate and complete including signed consent and waiver forms, assisting with report writing, clinical notes and records.
To educate patients as to the best dental and hygiene options; this includes usage of the intra oral camera at every visit when feasible.
To positively motivate patients and ensure patients know what oral aids are available.
Ensure that any communication with the patient is consistent and in line with office policy.
Use of standardized soft tissue management program as implemented or amended.
Maintain license to practice.
Maintenance of standards of sterilization and follow all privacy protocols.
Use of time productively during working hours i.e. sharpen instruments, restocking room and cleaning of room, assist other providers, look ahead and assist in scheduling patients.
Maintenance and correct usage of instruments and equipment at all times.
Monitoring of hygiene supplies and advising responsible person when stocks are getting low.
Keep personal operatory space and any other common working space clean and tidy.
Assist in upholding and promoting the positive reputation of the practice and dentist.
Actively encourage patients to refer family and friends by promoting the positive aspects of the practice and the dentist.
Occasionally assisting the dentist when required or requested.
Attend and contribute to team meetings.
Attend further continuing education courses upon request.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $45.00-$49.00 per hour
