In this role, you'll play a key part in delivering high-quality dental care in a supportive and collaborative environment. Your expertise will be crucial as you provide cleanings, educate patients on oral health, and help ensure smooth daily operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform thorough dental hygiene assessments, including medical and dental histories.
Provide high-quality preventive care, including professional cleanings, scaling and root planning, and fluoride treatments.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and dietary recommendations.
Take and develop dental X-rays to assess patient needs and provide accurate diagnostics.
Conduct patient screenings, including checking for signs of oral diseases such as cavities, gum disease, and oral cancer.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes and patient interactions.
Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment according to infection control standards.
Ensure patient comfort and safety during all procedures, addressing any concerns or anxieties.
Stay current on the latest advancements in dental hygiene and best practices through continuing education and training.
Provide post-treatment care instructions and educate patients on maintaining oral health between visits.

Skills and Abilities:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to educate and comfort patients.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate patient records.
Ability to work efficiently within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment while providing exceptional care.

Qualifications and Experience:

Registered Dental Hygienist license in good standing with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO).
Previous experience as a dental hygienist preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
Strong understanding of infection control protocols and dental hygiene best practices.
Proficiency in dental hygiene procedures and technologies.

This is a casual, flexible position providing support to our clinics within the Windsor-Essex area.
