Requirements
- Dental Hygienists Licensure by the appropriate provincial or territorial governing body
- College/CEGEP education
- Experience in a dental practice (will train)
- Ability to conduct initial dental assessments
- Consult with dentists on patient care
- Skill in taking dental impressions
- Instruct patients regarding oral hygiene
- Ability to clean and stimulate gums to prevent gum disease
- Apply fluoride treatment
- Remove stains and deposits from teeth
- Take, develop, and mount X-rays
- Work language proficiency in English or French
