Dr. Grady O’Neill’s Periodontal office is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist for a 12+ month maternity leave position!

A little bit about the position:

Starting in May 2025 until May 2026, with the possibility of permanent part-time hours for the right candidate after the maternity leave
Tuesday-Friday, the hours are 8-4 with a 30 minute lunch break (this can be eventually adjusted to 1 hour if preferred). Option of only 2 or 3 days a week if required
The office is located in a very central location at Shelbourne and Hillside (right across from the Hillside Mall), free street parking about a 3 minute walk from the office
$65-67/ hour wage
Paper charts with Dexis digital radiographs (we mostly just take periapical radiographs as needed - no routine bitewings)
We use Exan Power Practice for booking our own recall appointments. This gives us the flexibility to determine the appropriate appointment times needed for each patient and gives us some flexibility to slightly alter your schedule for personal appointments that may arise
Local anaesthetic module is required as many of our patients require it (this is a perfect opportunity to become confident in this important skill)
Very friendly and team oriented staff who help each other out
We are a very busy office with referrals from all over Vancouver Island. Even with the fast pace, Dr. O’Neill’s laid back personality makes the office a calm and a stress-free working environment
Many of our recall patients have been coming for years and are very well maintained which makes it a balanced work day with a good mixture of different types of patients (not all advanced periodontal patients!)
Multiple 'lunch and learn' CE opportunities available over the course of the year and BLS re-certification as an office in April
Typical holidays throughout the year are: 1-2 weeks off in March, 1-3 weeks off in August, and 2 weeks off in December for Christmas (hygienist can choose to work as much as preferred over these periods)
