College/CEGEP education
Membership with the Ordre des hygiénistes dentaires du Québec
1 to less than 7 months of experience in dental hygiene
Ability to conduct initial dental assessments
Ability to consult with dentists on patient care
Skilled in instructing patients regarding oral hygiene
Ability to clean and stimulate gums to prevent gum disease
Experience in applying fluoride treatment
Skilled in removing stains and deposits from teeth
Experience taking, developing, and mounting X-rays
Ability to perform restorative and orthodontic procedures under the direction of a dentist
Excellent oral communication skills
Efficient interpersonal skills
Strong client focus

Interpersonal awareness
Accurate and detail-oriented
Fluency in French
